Sunsynk F47: AC Over Frequency
F47 means the grid frequency rose above the allowed range, so your Sunsynk disconnected to stay within grid-protection rules. Frequency is set by the utility, not by you, so F47 is almost always a grid-side event that clears on its own when the grid settles.
Sunsynk and Deye are the same platform Sunsynk hybrids are rebadged from the same hardware family as Deye, so F47 means the same fault on both and these steps apply either way. The practical difference is the app you read it in: Sunsynk uses SunSynk Connect, Deye uses SolarMan. If your unit is actually a Deye, see Deye F47.
What usually causes F47
- A short grid frequency excursion on the utility side.
- An unstable or weak grid, more common in some regions and on generators.
- Running off a generator whose frequency drifts can trigger it.
How to handle it
- Wait for it to clear. The inverter reconnects automatically once the frequency is back in range. A brief, occasional F47 is normal.
- Watch the frequency. Rare events are nothing to act on. Frequent F47 suggests an unstable supply.
- On a generator, make sure it is sized and tuned for a stable frequency.
- For persistent F47, contact your installer or utility about grid stability.

FAQ
Can I do anything about grid frequency?
Not directly, it is controlled by the utility. Your role is to notice whether F47 is rare (normal) or frequent (worth raising with your installer or utility).
It happens when I'm on my backup generator.
Generators can drift in frequency, which trips F47. A correctly sized, well-maintained generator with stable output reduces these events.
