Solis Reve-DC: DC Reversely Connected

Updated June 2026 · Reviewed for technical accuracy · ~2 min read

Reve-DC (code 1028) means a solar string is connected to the inverter with reversed polarity, the positive and negative swapped. The Solis detects this and refuses to operate that input, which is exactly right: running a reversed string can damage equipment. This is almost always a wiring error, so it is an installer fix.

What it means

  • A string wired backwards (PV+ and PV- swapped), most often right after an install or after panel work.
  • A connector crossed somewhere in the string.

What to do, safely

Do not rewire DC yourself. PV strings are live in daylight and carry dangerous voltage. Correcting polarity is a qualified installer's job.
  1. Note when it started. Reve-DC almost always appears right after an install or panel work, which tells the installer exactly where to look.
  2. Turn off the DC isolator to take the affected input out of operation safely.
  3. Call your installer. They check the string polarity with a meter and correct the reversed connection. After that, the input works normally.
When to bring in a professional Reve-DC is a wiring fault on live DC strings. It must be corrected by a licensed installer, not by reconnecting blindly.

FAQ

It appeared right after my panels were installed.

That is the classic case: a string was wired with the polarity reversed during the install. Your installer can correct it quickly once they know which string.

⚠️ Safety disclaimer. Solar inverters carry lethal DC and AC voltage even when "off", and PV inputs are live in daylight. This guide covers turning off the DC isolator only. Correcting DC polarity must be done by a licensed installer.
