Solis ILeak-PRO: Leakage Current Protection

ILeak-PRO (leakage current protection, code 1034) means the Solis detected more leakage current to ground than its safety threshold allows, and stopped to protect you. You may see it numbered 01 to 04, which simply reflects different threshold levels (30, 60, 150 and 300 mA). Like its relative PV-ISO-PRO, a brief ILeak-PRO is often caused by moisture and clears after a restart; a persistent one needs inspection.

What usually causes ILeak-PRO

  • Moisture or damp in a DC connector or junction, common early morning or after rain.
  • Aging or damaged cable insulation allowing a small leakage.
  • A grounding issue in the array or earthing.
  • High humidity generally, which can push a marginal system over the threshold.

How to handle it safely

No opening connectors Inspecting or repairing DC wiring is an installer job. Your safe steps are to restart and watch the pattern.
  1. Restart the inverter. AC breaker off, then the DC isolator, wait 5 minutes, restart. A transient, moisture-driven ILeak-PRO often clears, especially as the day dries out.
  2. Watch the pattern. Does it happen mainly early morning, after rain or in humid weather, then clear? That points to moisture and usually is not an emergency.
  3. If it persists, especially in dry weather, get it checked. A recurring ILeak-PRO is a genuine leakage or grounding fault.
  4. Call your installer. They test each string individually, check the insulation, and update firmware if needed.
When to bring in a professional Persistent or dry-weather ILeak-PRO means a real insulation or grounding fault. Leakage current is a safety matter, so have a licensed installer inspect the PV wiring rather than ignoring repeated alarms.
