How to Find Your Inverter's Error Code in the App

Updated June 2026 · Reviewed for technical accuracy · ~4 min read

Sometimes the inverter's own screen is awkward to read, or it is mounted somewhere out of reach. The good news is that every major brand has a free monitoring app that shows the exact fault, usually under an "Alarms" menu. Here is where to look in each one, and what to do with the code once you have it.

Deye: the SolarMan app

Deye hybrid inverters report through the SolarMan app (sometimes branded SolarMan Smart). Open your plant, go to the device or inverter, and look under Alarms. You will see the F-code (like F18 or F64). Then open the full guide on our Deye codes page.

Sunsynk: the SunSynk Connect app

Sunsynk inverters use the SunSynk Connect app. Select your inverter and check the System Alarms list for the active F-code. The codes match Deye's closely. Look it up on our Sunsynk codes page.

Growatt: the ShinePhone app

Growatt inverters report through ShinePhone (and the ShineServer web portal). Open the device and view the fault list; Growatt uses numbered "Error" codes such as Error 300 or Error 405. Find yours on our Growatt codes page.

Solis: the SolisCloud app

Solis inverters use the SolisCloud app. Open your plant and inverter, and check the alarm list for the mnemonic code such as OV-G-V or NO-Grid (each also has a hex number like 1010). Look it up on our Solis codes page.

What to do with the code

Once you have the exact code, the fix depends on it, so look it up rather than guessing. Type your code on the home page to get the meaning, how urgent it is, and the safe steps. If you are about to do anything hands-on, read how to safely restart your inverter first.

Tip Note the exact code and whether it cleared on its own. A code that appears once in the morning and clears is very different from one that keeps returning all day, and that detail often points straight to the cause.
⚠️ Safety disclaimer. Solar inverters carry lethal DC and AC voltage even when "off". This guide is informational only. For any hands-on work beyond external switches, call a licensed installer or electrician.
